  • Van's Trail Community Opening

    August 6, 2026  6:00 pm - 9:30 pm
The Heights Ski & Country Club 1-1106 Horseshoe Valley Rd W, Barrie ON L4M 4Y8, Canada

    Van's Trail Community Opening
Thursday, August 6 | The Heights Mountain Bike Trails

The Simcoe County Mountain Bike Club (SCMBC) is proud to invite our entire community to the official opening of Van's Trail, the newest intermediate blue descent at The Heights.

This evening is about much more than opening a new trail.

It is an opportunity to come together as a community to honour the Russell family, whose kindness, generosity, and years of dedication have helped shape The Heights into the incredible place it is today. Ryan Russell has played a significant role in building and supporting these trails, and their son, Van, left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

In recognition of their family's unwavering support and the impact Van had on our mountain bike community, we are honoured to dedicate this trail in his memory.

Whether you ride mountain bikes, hike trails, are new to the sport, or simply want to show your support, everyone is welcome. You do not need to ride to be part of this special evening. Walk to the trail entrance, join us for the dedication, cheer on the first riders, or simply spend time celebrating our amazing community.

Mountain biking has always been about more than riding bikes—it's about friendships, volunteers, families, and the people who make our trails feel like home.

    We hope you'll join us.
